The world of Urban Exploration is necessarily a secretive one. Many of the locations accessed are restricted, with the potential for injury, arrest or even death being high.
Information about explorations is shared on internet forums using aliases - online identities that are maintained by the Urban Exploration community during any expeditions rather than using real names.
However, with this anonymity it’s evident there’s a great deal of respect between the participants and a great deal of trust invested in one another. Especially when, in many locations, it feels like all you have, should anything go wrong, are the people you’re with.
